Guides
Better meetings, in practice.
Short, practical guides. Each one takes less time to read than a meeting takes to start.
Your first meeting in 30 seconds
- Go to Start a Meeting. Allow your camera and microphone when the browser asks.
- Check the preview, pick the right microphone and press Start Meeting.
- Copy the link and send it. Your guests sign in (or create an account and subscribe) and join from the browser.
- When someone arrives, you'll see “Name wants to join”. Press Admit.
Five habits of great meetings
- Start with the decision you need. Put it in the meeting title.
- Keep it short. 25 minutes beats 30. Ending early is a feature.
- Turn on transcription. Then nobody needs to take notes and Meetly AI can do its job.
- Assign every task out loud. “Ana will send the brief by Friday” becomes an action item with an owner and a date.
- Share the summary. Copy it from the meeting page and paste it wherever your team works.
Presenting with screen share
Click Share screen and choose your entire screen, one window or a single browser tab. Sharing a tab is best for slides and websites — it keeps notifications private. Click Stop when you're done.
Hosting safely
- The waiting room is on by default, so you decide who joins.
- Lock the meeting once everyone is in. Nobody new can join, even with the link.
- From People, you can ask someone to mute, make them a co-host, or remove them.
